Even Cadar instruments wear out eventually but you can buy spares and order repairs or service exchange instruments on-line here.  And in line with WEEE legislation (Waste Electical and Electronic Equipment Directive which became law in all EEC states in July 2006) Cadar will take back, free of charge, any Cadar micrometer or bore gauge when you can no longer use it.  Just send it (or whatever is left of it!) to Dept WEEE at the address shown here.  If you return it via UPS you can charge it to us - please call or email for details.

Battery Chargers

Replacement battery chargers are available for Microstat and MicroBGS instruments with round charger sockets only.  Chargers for Micro 2000 and Microstat version 1 instruments, with rectangular 2 pin charger sockets are no longer available.  We can, however, offer a service exchange instrument or a battery compartment upgrade - see below.

Chargers for version 2 instruments

Built into a mains plug body with 2m lead and round 6 pin connector for MicroStat version 2 (RS232) and MicroBG instruments.

Chargers for version 3 instruments

Built into a mains plug body and needing a USB lead as supplied with version 3 micrometers.

USB Lead

Approx 2m long with a round 5 pin plug at one end and a standard USB 'A' plug at the other.

Calibration

We offer UKAS calibration certificates for all bore gauges and fixed anvil micrometers up to 150mm capacity for a fixed price of £34.00 (+VAT).  You can order your calibration certificate online using the order button below - please quote the instrument serial number in the payment note when you checkout - and return the instrument to us (address) with a covering letter or order.

Service Exchange

Micro 2000 instruments have not been manufactured for over 20 years and many parts are no longer available.  We can, however, offer an equivalent Microstat instrument as a service exchange.  All bore gauges and 25mm & 50mm micrometers are eligible for service exchange at a standard price of £546.00 (+VAT).  Return the instrument to us (address) with a covering letter or order and we will examine it and contact you to confirm the exchange price and request payment.  If you make your payment via the link below please quote the instrument serial number in the payment note window when you checkout.

Other instruments can usually be exchanged too - email details of the instrument for confirmation, or telephone 0114 275 0722. 

Battery Compartment Upgrade

To enable version 1 Microstat instruments (not Micro 2000) to accept a charger with a round plug you can have the battery compartment of your micrometer or bore gauge upgraded.  This includes a new battery and charger.  You can order the upgrade online using the order button below - please quote the instrument serial number in the payment note when you checkout - and return the instrument to us (address).

MicrostatXL Software

The current version of MicrostatXL, v3.0, supports USB micrometers and you can download it free here.  MicrostaXL version 1, for RS232 micrometers, is no longer supported but you can still download it below for existing instruments.
