Cadar LVDT Transducers

Home > Products > LVDT Transducers

The LVDT linear transducer is a single axis measuring device that is usually incorporated into a purpose built jig or gauge, either singly or in combination with other transducers.  The transducers may be arranged at any point and in any attitude with respect to the item being measured.  The measuring range of a transducer varies with its size, and it can be assumed that the smaller the range of the transducer the greater the resolution and the accuracy.

Cadar LVDT transducers Transducers are not absolute measuring devices and therefore must be zeroed against a known datum before being used.  They must also be calibrated in-system since the resolution of a probe is dependant not only on it's internal construction but on the signal conditioning circuitry used to drive it.

Standard Transducers

Spring return - fully extended at rest and depressed by contact with workpiece.  Diagrams below show (left) the construction details of a typical probe with ball anvil, and (right) connections to signal conditioning circuit.  Other anvil types are available on request.
