Overview The CADAR ISA Scale & Digimatic Interface Card provides a link with up to four glass scale instruments and/or four Mitutoyo 'Digimatic' instruments, on a single full length ISA format interface card. Also included is a 8 bit digital I/O port - 8 bits in and 8 bits out - for control and monitoring applications. The glass scale section uses semi-custom chips to provide four independent 20bit up/down counter channels with quadrature decoding. These can be extended to 32bits in software in most applications. Each channel also provides two signal inputs typcially used for data entry and reset. The Digimatic section a 48bit serial/parallel converter (shift register) time division multiplexed over four channels to read four separate Digimatic instruments. Each channel also has data entry input tho few Digimatic instruments actually transmit such a signal. The card is packaged with a Windows NT/2000/XP device driver, sample software in Visual BASIC and Visual C++, and a COM/ActiveX module for use with many other software packages, including Microsoft Excel.
