Q. What privileges are needed to run QS-Pro under Windows 2000 or XP?

A. QS-Pro v3.x needs only standard user privileges to run under Windows 2000 or XP, tho you will need power user privileges to install QS-Pro or make changes to instrument ports, either using PortBuilder or by adding or removing instrument drivers.

Typically QS-Pro's database, workgroup file and instrument file are installed into a folder under My Documents or All Users/Documents where you will have sufficient rights to use the system.  If you install these files, particularly the database, to a folder on a network, you must ensure that users of the system have both read and write privileges in that folder.  Unless users will be creating new databases or creating linked drawings or other objects, they do not need create or delete privileges.
