GPAQ Touchscreen

GPAQ Touchscreen is a personal computer program, which displays an electronic version of the GPAQ (General Practice Assessment Questionnaire) questionnaire, controlled by touching a touch-sensitive computer screen. GPAQ is one of the two designated patient experience questionnaires for the GMS2 GP Contract. A Cadar All In One Panel PC, using touch-screen technology presents the questionnaire in a simple animated form with clear multiple choice answers. No keyboard or mouse is needed, and no previous computer experience is required. Data entry is easy, anonymous, even fun! In trials, 174 patients up to 95 years of age answered the questionnaire over a 10 day period and each one took an average of less than 5 minutes.

The hardware is robust enough to stand continual use in a public place (QStation is a particularly tough cookie) while the software ensures that patients can't skip questions and must give a valid answer to each one. This alone eliminates most of the common problems associated with this type of data collection. The questionnaire can be tailored to each practice with individual medical staff identified by name (for the patients' benefit) and by code (for analysis). You can include additional questions relevant to individual practices, and the questionnaire can be presented in English, Welsh, Arabic and Urdu.
